You can test your integration using the Google Tag Assistant.

Testing Instructions

  1. Click Add Domain.

  1. Enter the domain you wish to test and click Connect. Google Tag Assistant will open your property in a new tab.

  1. In the CMP prompt on the new tab, accept one or more purposes.
    1. In the example below, we accepted analytics_storage and personalization_storage.
  2. Back in the Tag Assistant window, select the Consent tab. When you view the table, it should contain your Google consent status.
    1. In our example, analytics_storage and personalization_storage are granted, matching what we selected in the CMP.

Testing in the dataLayer

Additionally, you can enter dataLayer in the Google Dev Console. This will display several items; you can open up the arguments with consent in the array and see the status update.

 

🚧 ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization will not show up in the dataLayer. Please use the Google Tag Assistant to ensure those work correctly.
