This documentation explains how to integrate Sourcepoint's Consent Management Platform with Google Consent Management
Overview
This documentation explains how to integrate Sourcepoint's Consent Management Platform (CMP) with Google Consent Management (GCM), using either gtag.js or Google Tag Manager (GTM) for implementation.
Prerequisites
Before proceeding, please choose between gtag.js and Google Tag Manager for your implementation.
gtag.js
The Google tag (gtag.js) is a single tag you can add to your website to use various Google products and services (e.g., Google Ads, Google Analytics, etc.). Instead of managing multiple tags for different Google product accounts, you can use the Google tag across your entire website, connecting the tag to multiple destinations.
Follow these instructions to install gtag.js onto your web property.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
You'll need to add the Sourcepoint GTM template to your account.
Follow these instructions to manually upload the template to your GTM account.
The GTM template is under review with Google currently; it will be available within GTM's template community soon.
Tagging
Please do the following once the Sourcepoint GTM template is available in your account.
- Click on Tags on the left-hand menu.
- Click New in the Panel.
- Click the Tag Configuration panel
- Select Sourcepoint CMP - Consent Mode V2 from the new menu.
- By default, all Google Consent checks will default to "denied" for all regions; if this is acceptable, you can move on to the trigger configuration.
- To change the default settings for any Google consent checks, click Add Row, then set the default settings for each region. You can add multiple rows to change the default settings of the consent checks for different regions.
Triggering
- Click the Triggering panel to open up the settings.
- Select Consent Initialization - All Pages
- Save your settings
- Click Submit to publish your tag.
